New Yorker Shocked That He Can't Sell His 300 Foot Bright Orange Ferry

Wall Street Journal- Three years ago, Jacques Guillet went down to the Manhattan Municipal Building for a closed-bid auction. He wasn't hopeful: He had bid on city property before, and was always outgunned. But this particular morning, fate tapped his shoulder. Mr. Guillet walked away $162,000 poorer, the proud owner of a gently used Staten Island Ferry...
...Mr. Guillet says the city, which controls most of the area's desirable waterfront, wanted $1,000 a day for berthing privileges. Talks with a Brooklyn Navy Yard tenant fell through when its pier collapsed. After a long search, Mr. Guillet, who is paying $6,000 a month to dock the boat in Staten Island, gave up and decided to sell his prize. So far, there are no takers. A February attempt to auction the ship on eBay netted 9,000 page views and zero bids. Mr. Guillet's love affair with his ferry is over. "I like it, but I can't sell it," he says, "and I start to hate it."

Damn, no one wants to buy a boat the size of a football field? Really? Kinda surprised by this one, I mean, the only logical reason I can think of is that all 8 million other New Yorkers already have a 300 foot bright orange boat, right? Cus like, yeah, I know most people who live in the Big Apple don't even own a car, but I figured a full sized ferry was a must have. I don't know, sometimes these things just don't add up. Sorry bro, I feel ya.
